Lisa Howard, Founder OMG! One Might Gift Card
Having been an active fundraiser and volunteer for many years for several non-profit organizations, OMG!’s Founder Lisa Howard, thought she had found her passion when creating unique and fun ways to fundraise. She owned and operated a small, but unique gift shop dedicated to offering her customers gifts that served a greater purpose and only offered items that supported causes. It wasn’t all that long before she recognized her passion wasn’t as much about the fundraising as it was in creating an environment that inspired giving! The energy created when a group of purpose driven people come together in the spirit of giving is tremendous and, she believes, can be life changing!
Customers spent a great deal of time in her gift shop as they browsed the store and read the labels of each item explaining what cause benefited from the purchase. The customer feedback in her quaint, but purpose driven shop was just terrific and really quite inspiring. So, it was no surprise to Ms. Howard when she researched similar venues only to discover that an estimated 2.9 million people search the internet every day…that’s right, everyday 2.9 million people search the internet looking for ways to support causes and/or donate to those causes close to their hearts and homes.
The gift shop opened in 2005, then a grass roots program designed to aid and focus on the interdependence of community, business and the non-profit sector. In 2008 the gift shop had hit hard economic times and closed its doors. But its purpose and mission remained in its founder’s heart, where it still remains today.
This purpose and mission is now aligned with a new product – OMG! One Might Gift Card! OMG! Is a unique and innovative gift card program and is the ultimate win, win, win. The OMG! Card is a perfect gift for just about anyone and puts the personal back in gift card giving because when you give someone an OMG! Gift card you’re telling them that what matters to you is what matters to THEM! OMG! is allowing Ms. Howard to work toward her vision of creating a world of inspired and purpose driven giving.
